An in-depth breakdown of our project's background and approach is available here
In summary, our approach involves the following:
We partner with schools, sponsors, and local organizations to equip the girls with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in and out of school
We link the girls in our programs to qualified and capable mentors to improve their physical, mental, and social well-being
We offer programs and scholarships to improve comprehension and literacy levels, and impress upon the girls the benefits of getting a quality education
Our approach is to provide comprehensive support to girls between the ages of 10 and 19 years from low-income families as well as to systematically develop the schools in the communities in which we work.
We provide comprehensive support to girls in three main ways:
through community and family engagement
by providing need-based scholarships
by providing mentoring
At Give Girls A Chance, there will be a particular focus on technology and we will work to equip schools with computer facilities and initiate coding training programs that will equip the girls with technological skills to enable them compete with their peers across the country and the continent.
