GGAC publishes 2023 Annual Report

Give Girls A Chance's 2023 annual report highlights our continued efforts to support girls' education.

Welcome to Give Girls A Chance's 2023 Annual Report—a testament to our grassroots commitment to advancing gender equality in education across Nigeria. Investing in the empowerment of girls and young women has been our focus for the past seven years, with positive ripple effects reaching beyond individuals to impact families and the communities we serve.

In the academic year from September 2022 to August 2023, GGAC achieved significant

milestones. Through our Scholarship & Mentorship Program, we provided scholarships and mentoring to over 70 girls in four partner schools in Abuja—LEA Primary School, Junior Secondary Schools Garki, Gbessa, and Durumi 2. In January 2023, we took a vital step with a teen pregnancy awareness initiative, engaging and supporting 10 young girls through education and counseling sessions led by a trained psychologist.

March 2023 marked a significant stride in our mission to enhance literacy in public schools.

Generous book donations, including from the U.S Embassy in Nigeria, enriched learning

environments in two partner schools, fostering a culture of reading and knowledge acquisition.

From May to June 2023, GGAC rolled out a Mentor Training program, aiming to empower

mentors who will guide and inspire girls, fostering personal growth and academic success. Five mentors have participated so far. Through our Menstrual Hygiene Campaign, we provided sanitary products and information to over 700 girls in two partner schools.

We were honored with the Nigeria Achievers Award on February 4, 2023, in recognition of our advocacy for the girl child. We remain steadfast in upholding advocacy, education, and capacity building to create pedestals for girls globally.
