We are thrilled to announce the winners of our recent essay competition, which focused on the crucial theme: “Bridging the Gender Digital Divide in Nigeria.” This competition provided an opportunity for students to explore and articulate their ideas on how to overcome barriers that limit digital access and literacy for girls and women in Nigeria.
1st Place:
Ezeh Abigail
GGAC Sponsored Student, Area 1 Junior Secondary School
Abigail impressed the judges with her insightful essay on the importance of digital literacy in empowering young women and fostering equality. Her detailed exploration of practical solutions and policy recommendations stood out as exemplary.
2nd Place:
Adiele Jennifer
Government Secondary School, Apo
Jennifer’s essay highlighted the societal challenges that contribute to the digital divide and proposed innovative community-based programs to bridge the gap. Her focus on grassroots initiatives was both inspiring and practical.
3rd Place:
Favour Gomina
Junior Secondary School, Gbessan
Favour’s thoughtful analysis of the role of education in bridging the gender digital divide showcased her strong understanding of the issues at hand. Her essay advocated for increased investment in digital infrastructure in rural areas to ensure no girl is left behind.
